Autumn Reflections

A deep love of nature has inspired the artist with a lifetime of subject matter. Painting in oil or watercolor, local landscapes and exotic locales are distilled through the artist’s perception into compositions that express the mood or spiritual quality of a place. Recent subjects include people enjoying a day at the beach, their images reflected in the wet sand and water. Other seascapes feature seagulls flying along the coast of Block Island, or the wild ponies on the dunes of Assateague Island. Local landscapes include an autumn day on a Pennsylvania canal, the lazy afternoon sunshine of an early spring day on the Delaware River, and a sun struck bouquet of apple blossoms on the artist’s back porch. A realistic and somewhat impressionistic style combined with strong intense color expresses the artist’s celebration of life and the world around us.
